| The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) have extended the deadline for homeowners, renters and business owners who suffered damages from Hurricane Ike to register for state and federal disaster assistance.
The deadline has moved from Sat. Jan. 10, 2009 to the next business day, Monday, Jan. 12, 2009. Applications filed after 12-12-08 may be considered timely by the Texas Workforce Commission if the applicant establishes good cause for filing late.
The extension approved by FEMA does not apply to the disaster unemployment assistance (DUA) program. For more information, see http://www.fema.gov/news/newsrelease.fema?id=47112 |
